Puerto Rican megastar Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show — a landmark moment as the first all-Spanish-language artist to lead the NFL’s biggest stage.
The three-time Grammy winner, who has been Spotify’s most-streamed artist in three of the past five years, called the honor bigger than himself: “This is for my people, my culture, and our history.” Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation oversees the halftime show, praised the choice, saying what Bad Bunny has done for Puerto Rico is “truly inspiring.”
The performance comes during a complicated stretch for the 31-year-old, who recently skipped U.S. dates on his tour amid concerns ICE could target fans outside venues. Still, he has drawn record crowds globally, including more than 500,000 at a residency in Puerto Rico, and remains one of music’s most influential figures.
Bad Bunny follows a recent run of blockbuster halftime shows from Usher, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd. With Super Bowl LVIII setting a U.S. viewership record of 127 million, his set will bring Latin music — and Spanish lyrics — to the most-watched broadcast in America.
